About Double Coined

Who we are

Double Coined is an independent online shop at doublecoined.com for coins, bullion, banknotes, stamps and postcards, from ancient issues to modern releases. We aim to be a straightforward source for collectors and newcomers alike: clear descriptions, honest condition notes and prices that reflect what is being offered. The shop is operated by Varando LTD.

What we sell

  • Ancient Coins: Greek, Roman and Byzantine coins such as denarii, antoniniani and tremisses.
  • World Coins: historic coins from European and other mints, some professionally graded.
  • Modern Coins: recent silver and gold issues, many in 1 oz or 2 oz .999 silver.
  • Euro Coins: commemorative euro coins and year sets.
  • Bullion: gold bars and silver coins such as the Kangaroo and Britannia, with weight and fineness in the title.
  • Banknotes: historic and modern paper money, often with its catalogue (Pick) number.
  • Stamps: single stamps, complete series and collections, often with their catalogue reference.
  • Postcards: collections of 20th-century picture postcards by country, city and subject.

Every item is an individual, one-off piece or set. Stock changes often as things sell. New to the terms used in listings? Our grading and terms guide explains grades such as MS 64, fineness such as .999, and catalogue references.

Where our pieces come from

Our coins, notes and stamps come from private collections and specialist sources across Europe and beyond. Each piece is described on its own, with its country, ruler or issuer, date, denomination and, where there is one, a grading service's grade. Look closely at the photographs of both sides of a coin, and check whether a grade in the title comes from a named grading service.

How buying from Double Coined works

  • Free shipping. Shipping is free on every order, with no delivery charge added at checkout.
  • A ship-by date on every product. Each product page shows the date the item ships by, and the same date appears in your basket, at checkout and in your order confirmation. Once your order is on its way, we email you a tracking number. Full details are on our shipping policy page.
  • Secure payment. You pay by card at checkout through Stripe. Prices are shown in euros.
  • 14-day returns. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK, you can change your mind and return most orders within 14 days of delivery, no reason needed. By law, items whose price depends on a financial or precious-metal market, such as gold and silver bullion, can be excluded from this right; when that applies, the product page says so before you order. See our returns policy for how it works.

Frequently asked questions

What does a grade such as "NGC MS 64" mean?

NGC is a coin grading service, and MS 64 is a grade on the 70-point Sheldon scale, where MS (Mint State) means an uncirculated coin and higher numbers mean fewer marks. Our grading and terms guide explains more.

Can I return bullion?

Gold and silver bullion can be excluded from the 14-day right to change your mind, because its price follows precious-metal markets. Where that applies, the product page says so before you order.

Does shipping cost extra?

No. Shipping is free on every order, and each product page shows the date the item ships by.
